New visitors
Sydney Centre welcomes you
All are warmly invited to join us at the Sydney Centre in Leichhardt—a peaceful sanctuary dedicated to meditation, spiritual growth, and inner awakening.
Whether you are completely new to meditation or continuing your journey with Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings, you will find a supportive and welcoming community here.
For those visiting for the first time, we recommend attending our 11:00 am Sunday Reading Service, which includes prayers, brief periods of meditation, devotional chanting, readings from the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda, and the healing technique.
Location: 286 Norton Street, Leichhardt NSW 2040
(Entrance is via the waiting room door on the right.)

Our services
Services at Sydney Centre are led by dedicated volunteers and include readings from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, guided prayers and affirmations, devotional chanting, and silent meditation.
Our full schedule of services—including long meditations, Sunday Reading Services, Thursday evening meditations, and special commemorative events—can be found on our Services page.
If you are new to meditation you can find more information here.

The SRF Lessons
Learn the sacred science of Kriya Yoga meditation to transform and bring balance to your life.
The SRF Home study lessons are a 9-month in-depth course that teaches you how to live a balanced and successful life by awakening your connection to the Divine.
After learning and practising the basic techniques during the first 9 months of receiving Paramahansa Yogananda’s personal instruction in the Lessons, those who wish may apply for initiation into Kriya Yoga.
Books available at Sydney Centre
We have a large selection of Self-Realization Fellowship books that are available for purchase at the Sydney Centre. Please note however that we are unable to post the books out to you.

Seating
Our meditation room is equipped with comfortable chairs for all attendees. If you prefer to meditate seated on the floor, space is available near the front and the rear of the chapel.
Silence
To support a peaceful and focused atmosphere, we kindly ask all visitors to remain silent inside and around the meditation room during services. After the service concludes, you are warmly encouraged to speak with our volunteers—they are always happy to answer questions about SRF, meditation, or the Sydney Centre community.

Offerings
During our Thursday and Sunday services, an optional offering is collected to support the ongoing spiritual and humanitarian work of Self-Realization Fellowship, and to help maintain the Sydney Centre. Your contributions, however small, help ensure that this sacred space continues to serve as a place of peace and spiritual growth for all.
Dress code
We request that you dress conservatively when attending our services, as one would when attending any service or chapel.
