SRF Mother Center Retrofit & Rehabilitation Project
The SRF International Headquarters (the Mother Center) was established by Paramahansa Yogananda in Los Angeles in 1925 as the spiritual and administrative center for his world mission of disseminating the ancient science of Kriya Yoga to all humanity.
Brother Chidananda, President and spiritual head of SRF/YSS, and SRF Vice President Brother Vishwananda recently unveiled their vision and inspiration behind the SRF International Headquarters Retrofit & Rehabilitation Project plans.
The aim of the project is to preserve this sanctuary of peace and harmony for generations to come
Sydney Centre considers this project to be fundamentally important to us, and considers it as ‘Our Project’ rather than Mother Center’s responsibility alone.
From a distance, our support will primarily be financial and in the form of prayers. We encourage devotees from Sydney, NSW, or from elsewhere in Australia to consider sending donations via Sydney Centre so that both small and large donations can be consolidated and sent to Mother Center. This will also reduce bank charges being made on small donations.

Support our new spiritual home at Leichhardt
We are deeply grateful to share that renovations at our meditation centre at 286 Norton Street, Leichhardt were completed in September 2023.
Our centre is thriving with renewed spaces, growing attendance, and new seekers discovering Kriya Yoga and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda every week.
To purchase our new spiritual home in September 2022, we borrowed $750,000. Thanks to the ongoing generosity of devotees, we have reduced this loan to $337,000 as of the end of September 2026.
We are now seeking your support to repay the remaining balance. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will help us become debt-free and ensure that this sacred space continues to welcome seekers for generations to come.
